The of the personnel is determined by a number of factors result- ing from some of them such as: the type and complexity of the manu- facturing production and delivered services, the level of technical equipment, the specialization and cooperation of production, the perfec- tion of applied organization of labour, etc. Therefore, it is a dynamic quantity, which should be subjected not only to a periodical evaluation but to improvement too. The aim of every entrepreneur should be seek- ing and reaching of an optimal structure. Such a structure may be ac- cepted if it provides the normal running of the main activity of the en- terprise, increase of the productivity of labour and minimization of the enterprise’s total costs. One of the most important questions for every manager is to determine properly the number of personnel – total, ac- cording to certain categories, groups and qualification. This number depends first of all on the concluded sales contracts, included in the production schedule, the time and servicing rates and the yearly amount of work time of a worker. The use of the human re- sources characterizes their functioning within the organization and at every working place as well as the efficiency of this functioning. It may be extensive and intensive. The extensive use of the human resources describes the use of workers in terms of numbers of workers and work- ing time of each worker. The intensive use of the human resource de- scribes the use of workers’ capacity, their physical and mental capabili- ties within length of the working day as specified by the law. The inef- ficient use of the human resources under other equal conditions cannot ensure efficient and stable functioning of the organization.
