113 • Unfavourable environment impact. d) Faults in the style of work such as: • Non-compliance with the orders of the top management; • Ignorance of the collective opinion; • Unjustified or unconsidered risk; • Overestimate of the personal capabilities; • Non-profound analysis of the situation. A research carried out with a great number of managers outlined five major reasons for failure in their work: The first one occurs when the major objective of the managers is not the success of units they manage but their salary . It should be a con- sequence of proven capabilities , work done and achieved results , not an end in itself . The second reason occurs whenever the managers pay too much attention or are too much excited by the symbols of their position, such as titles, office, service personnel, etc. Of course, these things are nec- essary but they are not the most important things, which may draw their attention. The third reason occurs whenever the managers are preoccupied with their own personalities. It is a common view that the bad manager takes care for himself/herself, and the good one for his people. Such kinds of managers always try to convey all successes to themselves, and all failures to their colleagues. The fourth reason of failure of the managers is their self-isolation and the fifth reason occurs when the manager always hides his thoughts and feelings.
