Management mistakes Even the most capable and best – trained manager can make a mistake. However, it is important to minimize the premises and reasons that had led to the mistake. These can be : a) Insufficient general managerial skills. For example : • Insufficient competence; • Insufficient knowledge; • Insufficient experience in resolving similar issues; • Insufficient general intellectual maturity; • Insufficient organizational abilities; • Insufficient awareness of the responsibility. b) Insufficient special managerial skills. Such are : • Wrong assessment of the trends of development; • Insufficient attention to certain problems; • Insufficient information, related to the problem solved; • Ignorance of another’s experience and of the modern achieve- ments in the field; • Usage of out-of-date methods and routine approach; • Lack of training in the field of management; • Insufficient knowledge of legislation, regulations, rules, etc. c) Objective causes and circumstances. For example : • Insufficient time to make a decision; • Contradictory, incorrect and insufficient information;
